Because Life is Short
The team at BLiS remind us all to use the good pantry items whenever you can—and to focus on quality across all areas of our lives
Hi friends,
A little note about this week’s newsletter: It’s going to be focused just on the intro and episode info here as I continue to learn what value is best to bring you all via your inboxes.
You all are so kind to be part of TPB’s email list and I want to make sure this is a newsletter you get excited about opening up each week. That there’s equal parts fun and interesting, along with useful, info that I can provide!
If you’d do me a quick favor: either fill out this super quick survey about content OR shoot me a short comment below about what you’ve liked or what you’d like to see differently about TPB’s writing? I’d really appreciate it!
Thank you, thank you!
Speaking of fun, interesting, and useful … the absolutely gorgeous pantry products made by this week’s guests!
I was lucky enough to meet the BLiS Gourmet team at this year’s UTILITY Show in Chicago—think of it like a small-scale conference for chefs, restaurateurs, and food friends to support each other and learn what is out there.
As I was perusing the tables of the show’s vendor section, I stopped in my tracks when I saw the most GORGEOUS amber-hued caviar. “It’s from the Great Lakes,” I was told. I couldn’t believe it!
The team at BLiS has been committed to creating interesting flavors to use in your own kitchens (and the world’s best restaurants, like Alinea) for 23 years now. And they’re producing it all out of Grand Rapids, MI!
I’m really impressed by Chef Steve, Sarah, and the whole team’s commitment to honoring Mother Nature from start to finish. They don’t want to create wacky, experimental products for your use.
They play off of the wild foraged products you already can find outdoors, and use special barrels to finish off the notes. They say when all is said and done, those same barrels get cut down for gardening.
I guess BLiS’s flavors (which stands for Because Life Is Short) are how I’d like to think of the content I deliver you: Stories and ideas that are purely good, interesting, and you can’t live without. Life is short: Use the good soy sauce, indulge in some locally sourced caviar, and ask for what you want others to deliver!
Thanks so much for being part of The Perfect Bite’s journey and supporting these founders’ stories. Feel free to respond to any of these messages with thoughts on how I can improve my storytelling in the future or if you have any guest ideas!
